With the winter season drawing to a close, these are our “must-try” al fresco spots to test ahead of the summer.
ShoCho, Dubai Marine Club: A restaurant that has been around for over 10 years, ShoCho is still a popular outdoor spot for a bite of sushi and some seriously good fun! Not your typical restaurant, this sushi house is all about unpretentious, super-fun parties, accompanied by a set of resident DJs that really know how to work the crowd. The al fresco terrace hovers over a beautiful stretch of beach so you can hear the waves lap against the shore whilst dining on yellow-fin tuna tartare, king fish ceviche, beef teriyaki and much much more. With super fresh seafood and a seaside setting – there is nothing not to like about ShoCho.
Zafran, Dubai Marina Mall: A hidden gem in the Marina Mall, Zafran, despite being dry, has a huge, secret terrace, boasting fantastic views of the Dubai Marina and beyond. The award-winning Indian restaurant offers a delicious selection of regional favourites from all over India with a twist in recipes, cooking style and presentation, so you can enjoy a bowl of butter chicken whilst watching a gorgeous sunset or enjoy an after work mocktail with stunning Marina views.
PierChic, Al Qasr Hotel: PierChic is on every single “most romantic date spot in Dubai” list. Like something out of a movie, this fine dining seafood restaurant sits on the edge of a pier right in the middle of the sea. With a selection of fresh seafood, a star studded sky and stunning sea views, this really is the most romantic spot in town and a must visit during Dubai’s cooler climates.
Seafu, Four Seasons Dubai: Seafu is cool – we mean really cool – our kind of space down to a tee! The majority of the restaurant is outside made up of warm colours, low tables and chairs, a square bar and a few ‘snug’ spots fitted out with fire pits and sea views. The place is completely covered in lanterns and with the cool breeze coming off the sea, the setting is perfect! A great place to watch the sunset with a mocktail or two and a few bites from their Asian inspired menu.
Hakkasan Dubai, Emirates Towers: The Terrace at Hakkasan Dubai is a secret, secluded spot in Emirates Towers and is perfect for Downtowners and DIFC workers, giving them the chance to escape from the bustle of city life and experience a unique outside space whilst enjoying Cantonese inspired cuisine, expertly made cocktails and chilled beats courtesy of the resident DJ. The restaurant is clad with oak latticing, lush exotic greenery and elegant water features, whilst rustic wooden pavilions are ideal for intimate gatherings. Low lighting and fire pits add to the atmosphere, creating a relaxed retreat in which to drink and dine – a perfect mid-week watering hole!
